I discovered theater at university and found my place in design
-- First, I'd like to ask you about the origins of your career. What made you decide to pursue a career in design?

Ichikado: I discovered theater at university. Before that, I couldn't fit in with groups and didn't feel like I could work in this society (laughs). As a child, I was an introverted person who was lost in thought. Even though I studied philosophy at university, I didn't have anything in particular that I wanted to do in the future, and even when I worked part-time, I made mistakes. I was thinking about how I could live my life without causing trouble to anyone.
